How to Apply to the SIUH EM Residency

Program Information

Thank you for your interest in the Zucker School of Medicine Hofstra Northwell at Staten Island University Hospital Program.  We are a PGY 1-3 format program.  We are currently recruiting for ten PGY-1 positions, entering in July.  Fourth year medical students interested in a career in Emergency Medicine are encouraged to apply.

Our program has full accreditation from the ACGME.

SIUH participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).  Applications will be accepted via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  Paper application materials will not be accepted.  Fourth year medical students should contact their medical school Dean's office for more information.

Requirements

In order to apply to our program, every applicant must send us the following materials via ERAS:

1.   USMLE scores

2.   Dean's Letter

3.   Official Medical School Transcript

4.    ** Given the challenges with limited away rotations during the COVID19 pandemic **, we will require only ONE eSLOE (Standard Letter of Evaluation) from emergency medicine faculty. More information about the eSLOE here. We will also only require USMLE Step I prior to extending an invitation to interview. We will not require USMLE Step II CS or CK prior to extending an invitation to interview. We will still require these scores prior to rank list submission.

Interviews

Completed applications will be reviewed by our committee and interviews will be granted accordingly.   We suggest that you complete your application as early as possible to improve your chances of obtaining an interview.
