  • SNAP helps low-income working people, senior citizens, the disabled and others feed their families

    Apply for enrollment at the Richmond County SNAP center:

  • WIC is a federally funded supplemental food, nutrition, and breastfeeding support program for women, infants and children. To apply for WIC assistance, you need proof of current address, income, birth certificate, vaccinations, & a referral form from a medical professional. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen.

    SIUH operates two WIC sites (Mon-Thurs 8:30am-4pm, Fri 8am-4pm)

  • The Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides checks to women, infants and children through the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) and to seniors through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) for the purchase of locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables.

    The closest participating farmers market in Staten Island:

    St. George Greenmarket, Operated by Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, open every Saturday 8am-1pm

    They also take SNAP/EBT!

Diabetes Resources

  • The Diabetes Self-Management Program at SIUH is nationally recognized by the American Diabetes Association. The program consists of Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists who can help people with all types of diabetes better manage their blood glucose. The program offers individualized counseling sessions to address the day-to-day challenges of living with diabetes.
